HelpAge’s vision is a world in which all older people fulfill their potential to lead dignified, active, healthy and secure lives. In the context of very rapid ageing, an equally rapid social and economic adaptation needs to take place. 

Since 1988, the HelpAge East Asia/Pacific Regional Office has been working with network members in Asia/Pacific to implement projects, conduct research, develop capacity and raise awareness on ageing issues. We provide governments, academic institutions and NGOs information, technical training and support.

United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)

UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled.

The work of UNFPA is based on the premise that the power of people to exercise their rights and make choices will determine the health and well-being of present and future generations and is central to achieving the world’s Sustainable Development Goals. UNFPA focuses on women and young people to ensure that they can lead healthy and productive lives.

Taking a life-cycle approach, UNFPA also works to raise awareness about population ageing and the need to harness its opportunities and address its challenges. UNFPA supports research and data collection to support evidence-based policies and planning, and makes sure ageing issues are integrated into national development programmes and poverty reduction strategies.
